Current England long jump champion and London 2012 hopeful J.J. Jegede did a spectacular exhibition jump over the roofs of three MINIs. This world first took place to celebrate the launch of the MINI London 2012 Edition models, of which only 2,012 will be produced.
The run-up track and sand pit was raised to the height of the MINI’s roofs on specially-constructed structures positioned either side of the vehicles. Former athlete and broadcaster Steve Backley hosted the proceedings at Potter’s Field, London by Tower Bridge.
The MINI Edition models will be released in the patriotic Union Jack colours of red, white or blue and boast London 2012 theming throughout. The models will be available in showrooms next year.
MINI UK, through its affiliation to London 2012 partner BMW, is proud to be an official partner to Team GB and the ParalympicsGB Team on their journey to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Acting as the biggest fan for both teams, MINI hopes its support will help to inspire extraordinary performances.
